Business Administration is a broad program that allows graduates to be multitasking employees who could aspire to management positions in various areas of business, including General, Marketing, Finance and Economics. The student may choose one of several concentrations during the last two years of study, through Cape Breton University.

The Bachelor of Business Administration is intended to prepare successful candidates for successful careers in private and public enterprises, co-operatives, government service, or self-employment and for graduate study.

Concentrations/Majors

Finance

A major that prepares students to be  financial managers, teaches them how to allocate  money,  students will learn about different types of securities and stock exchange, how to calculate risks and helps them in taking major decisions in big and long term investments.

Marketing

The art and the science of creating and adding value to products. The major teaches what branding is. More formally, it is the study of consumer's psychology and how to determine consumer needs and translate those needs into products and services and selling them locally, nationally, and globally. Either way, Marketing is a practical, career-oriented, and solidly pre-professional major that requires analytical skills, logic and creativity.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Business Administration is a broad program that allows graduates to be multitasking employees who could aspire to management positions in various areas of business, including General, Marketing, Finance and Economics. The student may choose one of several concentrations during the last two years of study, through Cape Breton University.

The Bachelor of Business Administration is intended to prepare successful candidates for successful careers in private and public enterprises, co-operatives, government service, or self-employment and for graduate study.

Concentrations

General

Students will be covering broadly all three majors (Economics, Finance, and Marketing) from a general perspective. Because the range of interests among majors is quite broad, students are encouraged to work with a departmental advisor to discuss a plan of studies that fits their individual needs.

Accounting

Students will graduate as professionals who help individuals, business firms, or governmental agencies plan for and oversee their financial operations. Students will learn how to gather, record, analyze, interpret, and communicate information about an individual’s or organization’s financial performance and risks.
