Canadian International College (CIC) was established in 2004 at New Cairo, as the only provider of Canadian Education in Egypt. It is an associate campus of Cape Breton University (CBU) and University of Ottawa (UO) in Canada. CIC offers programs in Business Administration, Business Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Technology and Mass Communication granting both Canadian university degrees from CBU/UO as well as Egyptian degree accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and the Supreme Council of Universities. Extending the borders of our success, CIC's Sheikh Zayed campus - 6th October was opened in 2012 offering programs in Business, Business Information Technology, Engineering and Engineering Technology. CIC offers dual Bachelor degree; Canadian Degree from one of our Canadian Partners(CBU or UO) and an Egyptian Degree Accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & Supreme Council of Universities. All CIC graduates get the chance to register in the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers/Syndicate of Commercial professions .
Earn A Dual Bachelor degree
CIC offers both Canadian and Egyptian bachelor degrees that students can earn at the same time. CIC's Canadian degrees are issued directly from the partnered Canadian University, and are identical to the degrees received by Canadian students there. CIC's Egyptian degrees are accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. CIC's ongoing quality assurance measures ensure CIC students receive the same programs as their counterparts in the Canadian partner universities.
An Organic Learning Experience
CIC is taking the initiative in introducing a new concept of "Organic vs. Linear Learning". Organic learning addresses the fact that not all students are able to learn in class at the same pace with the same capacity. Also, the individual differences in personal characteristics of our students might interfere in the level of engagement, for example if a student is too shy he/she might not feel comfortable to ask questions in class and in turn hinder his/her progress. So how do we solve the problem at least in the initial phase? We record the lectures of all subjects offered in all three schools and upload them on weekly basis after the face-to-face lecture is concluded and this will allow the students to recap on the information after the class is done and note down any missed out knowledge. We believe that our students are different but equal in the right to learn at their own pace.
Professional Experience While Studying
It is CIC's mission to play a key role in the technological advancement of the Egyptian industry through the co-operative education program. CIC always aims to host industries with well-educated employees possessing the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience needed for such advancement. The co-operative education internship program gives students the opportunity to enrich their education by alternating periods of classroom study with up to four periods of off-campus work experience at major local, Arab and international companies.
